MIRA

MIRAHey there! I'm MIRA. I'm a chatbot that uses artificial intelligence. I'm here to help provide you with information on mental health supports and services. I can also provide information on general or specific mental health related topics.

I can't give you medical advice and I'm not a counsellor. But I can help you figure out where to go to find care and support!

Our Story

Mental Health is Health

The creation of MIRA was spearheaded by Mood Disorders Society of Canada, a non governmental organization led by and representing individuals with lived experience. They saw a barrier to care in our mental health system, and then decided to do something about it.

The University of Alberta, who is leading the programming of MIRA, has been ranked 3rd globally as an academic leader in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning research for the last 30 years and counting according to CSRanking, a metrics-based ranking of top computer science institutions around the world.

World Leading Technology with Canadian Roots

MIRA uses world leading AI (or artificial intelligence) technology with Canadian roots, to connect individuals and their families to trusted mental health services on demand, tailored to their needs and preferences.
