Welcome to MIRA, a chatbot service/system (inclusive of the MIRA chatbot and MIRA Library), developed by Mood Disorders Society of Canada, (MDSC) in partnership with the University of Alberta, Dalhousie University, University of Saskatchewan, International Indigenous Health Research and Training Centre, AI4Society, Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (amii), and APEC Digital Hub for Mental Health (hereinafter referred to as "MIRA", or "We", or "Us" or "Our"). The domain name www.MyMIRA.ca (hereinafter referred to as "Website") content is owned by MDSC, and managed in partnership with all groups noted above. The Terms of Service apply to all visitors, data subject, and others who access the Service ("User(s)" or “You/r”). The terms “Content” or “content” refer to any/all materials presented in any format on the MIRA system. This page explains the terms by which You may use Our Website, other websites maintained by Us relating to our services. By accessing or using MIRA services, You signify that You have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of service ("Terms and Conditions") and to the collection and use of Your Information as set forth in the Privacy Policy and Consent Form, and terms of any other policies of MIRA as may be applicable to You. The Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and any other terms and conditions as may be applicable shall hereinafter collectively be referred to as “Agreement” or “Contract”. Our services are provided anonymously. With the exception of the voluntary satisfaction survey, and any other specific survey, we neither require nor request any personal identifiers or data to access this site.

Your interaction with MIRA is with an AI “system” and not a human. MIRA is restricted in the means of response, and the intended use is for finding information on mental health services and programs. MIRA is not intended for providing diagnosis, treatment or cure of a condition or disease and cannot offer medical or clinical advice. In case You mention the need for such advice, MIRA will suggest that You seek advanced (medical) help.

While MIRA may provide access to existing medical information , we advise you to always seek the advice of a physician or other qualified healthcare provider with any questions regarding your personal health or medical conditions. Never disregard, avoid, or delay obtaining medical advice from your doctor or other qualified healthcare provider because of something you have read on MIRA. You acknowledge that although some of the content that is provided to you through MIRA services, (including information provided in direct response to your questions or postings) may be provided by individuals in the medical profession, the provision of such information does not create a medical professional /patient relationship, and does not constitute an opinion, medical advice, or diagnosis or treatment of any particular condition, but is provided by MIRA simply as general information.

We cannot control and have no duty to take any action regarding how you may interpret and use content or what actions you may take as a result of having been exposed content, and you hereby release us from all liability for you having acquired or not acquired content through MIRA.
